It was a good run, but the Elkhorn Antlers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Norris 57-52. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Elkhorn has scored all season.
Elkhorn lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Colin Comstock, who scored 17 points. The matchup was Comstock's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cole Petersen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Elkhorn's loss dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Norris, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhorn will take on Plattsmouth at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Plattsmouth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Elkhorn is ranked sixth). Norris will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
