The Nokomis Redskins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Lincolnwood 45-19. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Nokomis also won the last time the pair played last Wednesday.
Leading Nokomis to victory were Cloey Dirks and Kinley Stolte. Dirks scored seven points along with six steals, while Stolte scored eight points along with eight rebounds. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Mackenzie Mehochko was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Nokomis' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Lincolnwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nokomis won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Okaw Valley at 6:15 p.m. on January 6th. Okaw Valley is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. Lincolnwood and North Mac will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Mac has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
