Paetow has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mayde Creek Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Paetow was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to Morton Ranch. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (65), Paetow still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Mayde Creek came up short against Jordan on Saturday and fell 65-55. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mayde Creek in their matchups with Jordan: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Mayde Creek saw an underclassman step up: Christian Gibson scored 39 points along with three steals. That was a full 70.9% of Mayde Creek's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Edwin Cleveland, who scored eight points.
Paetow's defeat dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Mayde Creek, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-21 record this season.
Paetow strolled past Mayde Creek when the teams last played back in January by a score of 67-51. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mayde Creek's Bryan Hightower, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Paetow still be able to contain Hightower? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
