Mariner has gone 9-1 against Cape Coral recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tritons will head out to square off against the Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mariner's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Island Coast 16-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tritons.

Brooke Parramore was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabi Winters, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Alaina Shugars also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Mariner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cape Coral hadn't done well against Ida Baker recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Seahawks put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 18-10 win. The Seahawks are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight.
Like Mariner, Cape Coral also got a great game from a two-way player: Emma Brannan. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Brannan has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Abigail Brannan was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4. Allie Buice was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-5.
Cape Coral's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Mariner, their record is now 10-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mariner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cape Coral struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Mariner came out on top in a nail-biter against Cape Coral in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tritons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
