The Troy Christian Eagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the National Trail Blazers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Troy Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Troy Christian proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bethel, sneaking past 4-2. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Judah Simmons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Troy Christian is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise.
At the plate, Troy Christian's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Landon Day, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Franklin Monroe hit National Trail with a eight-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blazers came up short against the Jets, falling 13-3. Blazers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Jets since on Saturday.
Grady Ott made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Jackson Skinner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Troy Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for National Trail, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-7.
Both Troy Christian and National Trail just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like National Trail struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Troy Christian might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from National Trail in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road?
