Cambridge/Salem took care of business in their home opener. Everything went their way against Hoosic Valley on Saturday as they made off with a 41-7 win. Cambridge/Salem was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Senior Tyler Linendoll, who rushed for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Hunter Day, who racked up 10 tackles. This was the first game for both teams, giving Cambridge/Salem a 1-0 record and starting Hoosic Valley off at 0-1.
Cambridge/Salem are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Holy Trinity Pride next week at 1:00 PM. Hoosic Valley will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Warrensburg at 1:00 PM.
