Roosevelt had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They won by a run and slipped past the Johnson Governors 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Teddies in their matchups with the Governors: they've now won three in a row.

Roosevelt saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam McMahon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Johnson is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will face off against Academy of Holy Angels at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Johnson, they will take on Camden at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
