Lincoln-Way North (Frankfort, Ill.) upset
Thornwood (South Holland, Ill.) 57-13 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Hylton touchdown run in the first quarter, Lincoln-Way North led 36-13 at the half.
LWN expanded its lead to 37 points entering the fourth quarter. The Frankfort school scored two times in the third, including once on a Gaynor touchdown run.
The final score was a stunner, as Lincoln-Way North was ranked No. 319 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Illinois, far below the Thunderbirds' spot at No. 211.
LWN got revenge for last year's 20-14 loss to Thornwood with the victory.
The loss comes after Thornwood defeated Rich South 42-28 last week.
In its next matchup Lincoln-Way North (2-1) will take on Thornton in a Southwest Suburban - Red game. The Wildcats enter the contest having posted a 1-1.
