Basketball Recap: South Bend Riley Drops Season-High Score on Hammond Bishop Noll

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Bend Riley). They walked away with a 59-48 victory over the Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Bend Riley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Serenity Farmer, who posted 16 points. Lafaye Gibson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Despite the loss, Hammond Bishop Noll still got an impressive performance from Mackenzie Hamer, who had 15 points along with seven steals and six boards. Those seven steals gave Hamer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmin Haro-Benitez, who put up six points and five rebounds.

South Bend Riley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

South Bend Riley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Bend St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they will challenge Whitney Young at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
