The Palm Desert Aztecs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the La Quinta Blackhawks at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Palm Desert's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while La Quinta has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Palm Desert posted their biggest victory since December 19, 2023 on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 75-43 win over Xavier Prep at home. The win was just what Palm Desert needed coming off of a 57-37 loss in their prior contest.
Kamrynn Nathan and Coby Christensen were among the main playmakers for Palm Desert as the former scored 23 points along with six assists and three steals and the latter almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, nine rebounds, and 12 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nathan has scored all season. Wil Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, La Quinta came up short against Shadow Hills on Thursday and fell 56-44.
Palm Desert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for La Quinta, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
Palm Desert beat La Quinta 63-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Palm Desert repeat their success, or does La Quinta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
