When it comes to explaining why Central Valley lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Vincent Vanpal. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Central Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Orland racked up 17.
Orland had a senior duo take command as Jordan Lister scored 18 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals and Zach Story scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Orozco, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds.
Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Orland, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Valley will challenge Willows at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Orland, they will head out on the road to face off against Foothill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Foothill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
