The Knox Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 80-60 loss at the hands of Kankakee Valley. Knox has not had much luck with Kankakee Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Knox's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Strong, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strong has scored all season. Rowen Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Kankakee Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Sampson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Camden Webster, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Knox's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Kankakee Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.
Knox's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Washington Township at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Washington Township focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday.
