Football Recap: Sharon Piles Up the Points Against Meadville

There's no place like home for Sharon, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Meadville Bulldogs, posting a 49-10 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Bishop Root had a dynamite game, rushing for 103 yards and three scores on only five carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Engelmore, who threw for 151 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sharon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

The victory got Sharon back to even at 3-3. As for Meadville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Sharon will welcome Grove City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Meadville, they will venture away from home to challenge Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
