Having just played yesterday, the Columbus International Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Columbus School for Girls Unicorns at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th. Columbus School for Girls took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbus International, who comes in off a win.
Even though Columbus International has not done well against Mifflin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Columbus International walked away with a 54-43 victory over Mifflin. The win made it back-to-back wins for Columbus International.
It was another big night for Leila Carter, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Columbus International's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annazai Ingram-cross, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Columbus School for Girls' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 36-27 to Grandview Heights. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Columbus School for Girls in their matchups with Grandview Heights: they've now lost four in a row.
Columbus International's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Columbus School for Girls, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
