Coshocton is 4-0 against Philo since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Coshocton Redskins will head out on the road to square off against the Philo Electrics at 7:30 p.m. Coshocton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Philo likes a good challenge.
Even though Morgan scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Coshocton still came out on top. Coshocton took their game against Morgan 63-56. Given Coshocton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Morgan is ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Colton Conkle, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten assists. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Antwone Johns, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Philo ended up a good deal behind River View on Friday and lost 64-47. Philo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Coshocton's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Philo, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Coshocton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Philo in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 76-70 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coshocton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
