Even though the Saranac Spartans scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Northeastern Clinton Cougars still came out on top. Northeastern Clinton snuck past Saranac with a 63-59 win. With that victory, Northeastern Clinton brought their scoring average up to 56 points per game.
Northeastern Clinton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Colton Castine out in front who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Brown, who scored 15 points.
The win got Northeastern Clinton back to even at 1-1. As for Saranac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Northeastern Clinton will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Northern Adirondack at 7:00 p.m. Saranac will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Plattsburgh at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
