The Y Yuma won the last time they faced the Highland Huskies, and things went their way on Saturday too. Y took down Highland 53-39. Given Y's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Highland is ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caddis Robinson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Alina Moran was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Y's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Highland, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Y will head out on the road to face off against Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. Strasburg's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Highland's offense will have their work cut out for Highland.
