The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over Lexington. The win was familiar territory for Dutch Fork who now have eight in a row.
Michaela Fairwell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Antoinet Cheeseboro, who scored nine points along with six steals.
Despite the defeat, Lexington saw an underclassman step up: Sydni Anderson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Izzy Saville, who scored four points.
Dutch Fork has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. As for Lexington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dutch Fork will take on Cane Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dutch Fork is coming into the contest with 11 straight wins at home, so Cane Bay is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Lexington, they will play host again and welcome Dorman, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Monday. Hopefully Lexington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Thursday.
