Miller hasn't had much luck against Colton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rebels will look to defend their home field against the Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. Miller has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Miller fell victim to Chaffey and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Rebels' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Miller saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leilah Quintana, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Colton hadn't done well against Grand Terrace recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Titans. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
ANDREA VARELA spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on MADDY SOLIS, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of DESIREE ARMENTA, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Miller has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. However, it's not like Colton struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Miller suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Colton when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
