The Whiteland Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Indian Creek Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whiteland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Whiteland will bounce into Friday's match after beating Mooresville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Pioneers on Thursday.
Peyton Wingfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Whiteland is 5-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Maalik Perkins was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Dickens, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Indian Creek had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three last Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Patriots.
Indian Creek's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Harden, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was Harden's first of the season.
Whiteland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Indian Creek, their record now sits at 12-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Whiteland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Indian Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Whiteland came up short against Indian Creek in their previous meeting back in April, falling 11-7. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
