Allen County recap September 24, 2013
Bluffton scaled the state rankings by moving to 182 from 221 this week, the biggest jump in Allen County. The Tigers were able to move up by besting Garrett 28-14.
Leo extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating South Adams, 35-12. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
The Railroaders' dynamic duo of Noah Follett and Cole Wilson proved tough for Bluffton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Follett threw for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns and Wilson had 83 yards receiving. Ryan VandeZande helped Garrett's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 48 yards.
Garrett's dynamic duo of Follett and Wilson proved to be unstoppable against Casey Kolkman's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Jaylin Bennett was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 260 yards on 45 carries as Woodlan lost to the Tigers. Debo Woods also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Follett put up the best numbers through the air as the Railroaders lost to Bluffton.
Wilson was the best wideout in Allen County this week as Garrett lost to the Tigers.
Bennett was a passing and rushing force as the Warriors defeated Prairie Heights.
Bennett was a beast in the backfield as Woodlan bested the Panthers.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Greg White. The Woodlan star has 11 catches for 198 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Leo takes on second place Heritage.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Sherwood Haydock's team's White goes up against the Railroaders' Dustin Underwood.
Bennett of the the Warriors is only 43 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 142 carries Bennett has put up 957 yards this year.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Railroaders and Woodlan face off next week. Woods has dominated opposing QBs with a total of 4.0 sacks, while Follett has 541 passing yards and 5 touchdowns on the season.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Warriors and Garrett face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Woodlan comes in having scored 168 this season, while the Railroaders have scored 110. The Warriors scored 32 points last week as they beat Prairie Heights.
Woodlan took down Vince Royer's team 32-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bennett in the win.
