Softball Recap: Badin Has No Trouble Against Archbishop Alter

Badin got themselves on the board against Archbishop Alter on Friday, but Archbishop Alter never followed suit. They blew past the Knights 16-0. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Kendall P. made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). P. was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

In other pitching news, Phebe Kiefer looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, Mattie Canupp was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Erica Kuhnash, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Badin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .621. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .409 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Badin's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Archbishop Alter, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Badin will welcome Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Alter, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bishop Fenwick at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st.
