Morristown Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 victory over Copenhagen on Friday. This was payback for Morristown Central, who suffered a 48-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Copenhagen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samuel Carroll, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Carroll is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caden Miller, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Morristown Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Copenhagen, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Morristown Central will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Thousand Islands at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Thousand Islands comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Copenhagen and Edwards-Knox will round out the year against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at. Edwards-Knox is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
