The Verdugo Hills Dons will take on the Jordan Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Verdugo Hills had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Marshall at home to the tune of 42-0. Verdugo Hills pushed the score to 23-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Marshall had little chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, Jordan had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They didn't even let Monroe onto the board and left with a 19-0 win.
It was another big night for David Sandy, who rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 86 yards and a touchdown on only seven passes. Sandy has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last eight times he's played.
Verdugo Hills now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Jordan, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Verdugo Hills strolled past Jordan in their previous matchup back in August by a score of 26-7. Does Verdugo Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jordan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
