Franklin has gone a perfect 7-0 against Reynolds recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Franklin will be playing at home against Reynolds at 11:00 a.m. Franklin will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Franklin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Iroquois on Thursday. Franklin put the hurt on Iroquois with a sharp 11-1 win.
Sam Wimer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Wimer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ty Prince was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Drew Kockler, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Iroquois only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Reynolds had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past Jamestown 9-8.
Like Franklin, Reynolds also got a great game from a two-way player: Peyton Rhyal. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Rhyal was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Brady Nehlen was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Chance Obenrader was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Reynolds, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Franklin took their victory against Reynolds in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 18-0. Will Franklin repeat their success, or does Reynolds has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
