In what's become a running theme this season, the Butler Bulldogs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They blew past Laney 60-36. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Laney is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Butler was led to victory by Paris Floyd and Brayla Harris. Floyd scored 16 points along with four steals, while Harris scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Floyd has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Kelly, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Butler and bumps their season record up to 12-7. As for Laney, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Butler will take on Putnam County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Putnam County will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Laney, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenn Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenn Hills is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
