Southwest DeKalb is 9-1 against Miller Grove since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southwest DeKalb Panthers will be playing at home against the Miller Grove Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Southwest DeKalb pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-59 to Columbia. While losing is never fun, Southwest DeKalb can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Columbia is ranked 25th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Sam Turner, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Azeez Bello, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Miller Grove suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 last Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 67-45 loss at the hands of Westminster.
Southwest DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Miller Grove, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-14.
Southwest DeKalb didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Miller Grove in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. Will Southwest DeKalb repeat their success, or does Miller Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
