Even though The Chetopa Hornets scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, the Pawnee Heights Tigers still came out on top. Pawnee Heights strolled past Chetopa with points to spare, taking the game 49-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pawnee Heights.
Pawnee Heights' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leighton Munk, who picked up 211 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Munk's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Gardner, who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Pawnee Heights is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Chetopa, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Pawnee Heights will face off against Cunningham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cunningham will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. Chetopa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
