The Harbor Creek Huskies''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 49-20 loss at the hands of Wheeling Central Catholic. While losing is never fun, Harbor Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 418th in Pennsylvania, while Wheeling Central Catholic is ranked 42nd in West Virginia).
Braden Mcwreath continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wheeling Central Catholic, rushing for 194 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards. Mcwreath's longest rush was for an incredible 89 yards. Another player making a difference was Jj White, who picked up 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Harbor Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harbor Creek will face off against Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Wheeling Central Catholic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Williamstown at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
