The Tree of Life Christian Trojans's 15-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a serious blow against Newark Catholic on Tuesday, falling 46-9. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tree of Life Christian has scored all season.
Kylie Gibson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Newark Catholic, scoring ten points along with six steals and five rebounds. Gibson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fini Kaiser, who scored 11 points.
Tree of Life Christian bumped their record down to 3-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Newark Catholic, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Tree of Life Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Newark Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Rosecrans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Rosecrans will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 637th, while Newark Catholic is ranked 41st).
