On Friday Central take on Chicopee Comp at 7:00 PM. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Central and West Springfield. Central put a hurting on West Springfield to the tune of 55-0. No one put up better numbers for Central than sophomore Marcus Crawford, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns.
As for Chicopee Comp, Chicopee Comp had a rough outing against Minnechaug Regional two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Chicopee Comp won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Hoosac Valley 7-6. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Central were fully in charge the last time the two teams met, breezing past Chicopee Comp 49-6. Central's win shoved Chicopee Comp out of the playoffs, so expect the team will have a target on their back in this one.
