The New Hartford Spartans were the 65-52 winner over the Seton Catholic Central Saints when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. New Hartford fell 61-49 to Seton Catholic Central on Friday. While losing is never fun, New Hartford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Seton Catholic Central is ranked 81st).
Seton Catholic Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allan Eagles led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Eagles scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Drew Erickson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
New Hartford bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Seton Catholic Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
New Hartford and Gloversville will round out the year against one another at TBD on Thursday at. As for Seton Catholic Central, they will face off against Troy at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday.
