The Trinity Valley Trojans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Houston Christian 30-27. Winning may never get old, but Trinity Valley sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Gavin Parkhurst continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 194 yards and three touchdowns. Parkhurst has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played.
Despite the defeat, Houston Christian saw an underclassman step up: Kade Gulledge rushed for 125 yards on only 12 carries. Gulledge really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
Trinity Valley's victory was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Houston Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Trinity Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Houston Christian also has no future games currently scheduled.
