Northern Lights recap October 1, 2013
Soldotna extended the longest winning streak in Northern Lights this week by beating Skyview, 54-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Soldotna took down the Panthers 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Homer's Sheldon Hutt and Mario Glosser led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hutt has thrown for 351 yards this season, while Glosser, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 4 catches for 135 yards. Kenai Central's Jace Daniels leads the league in rushing yards with 1,153.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Houston and the Mariners. The Hawks comes into the matchup ranked 24th in the state, while Homer ranks 22nd.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Kardinals take on Galen Brantley, Jr.'s team. Kenai Central has allowed 57 points this season, while the Stars have given up 77.
