Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Seneca Valley

Seneca Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 48-38 win over the Mount de Sales Academy Sailors .

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seneca Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Addison, who went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brielle Watson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Seneca Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Mount de Sales Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Ella Powers and Shelby Lewis. Powers went 8 of 10 on her way to 18 points, while Lewis dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Those 18 points gave Powers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Carroll, who posted three points and 14 rebounds.

Seneca Valley's record now sits at 5-1. As for Mount de Sales Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Seneca Valley and Sherwood will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Seneca Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will head out to face off against Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
