The Murrieta Mesa Rams and the Great Oak Wolfpack will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Murrieta Mesa is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Murrieta Mesa suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a tough 70-50 defeat at the hands of Rancho Christian. While losing is never fun, Murrieta Mesa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Rancho Christian is ranked 69th).
Meanwhile, Great Oak was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 49-43 to Aquinas. Great Oak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Murrieta Mesa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Great Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
Murrieta Mesa came up short against Great Oak in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 48-39. Can Murrieta Mesa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
