8A District 7 recap October 8, 2013
St. Petersburg moved up to 115 from 155 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 8A District 7. The Green Devils climbed the ranks as a result of beating Palm Harbor University 28-6.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Manatee beat Riverview 47-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Joshua Meyer put up the best numbers in passing as Manatee beat the Rams. He finished with a total of 15 completions for 168 yards and 1 touchdown. Meyer's favorite target this week was Kelvin McKnight, who caught 5 passes for 62 yards.
Manatee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hurricanes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Meyer has thrown for 682 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while McKnight has 31 catches for 372 yards.
Riverview lost to Joe Kinnan's team 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
