The Salisbury Township Falcons will take on the Saucon Valley Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Salisbury Township is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Catasauqua on Thursday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Rough Riders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Josiah Kuhns looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Salisbury Township let Nate Nunez and Caleb Gonzalez run wild. Nunez got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Gonzalez scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Gonzalez has become a key player for Salisbury Township: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Stauffer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Salisbury Township kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Saucon Valley got themselves on the board against Pen Argyl on Thursday, but Pen Argyl never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Green Knights. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.
Cole Hubert made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon O'Rourke, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Noah Hubert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Saucon Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Salisbury Township, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Saturday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Salisbury Township has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Saucon Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .542. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Salisbury Township might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Saucon Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
