The Thurgood Marshall Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Lima Senior Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thurgood Marshall is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
On Tuesday, Thurgood Marshall had to suffer through a rough 70-40 loss at the hands of Wayne. While losing is never fun, Thurgood Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while Wayne is ranked 40th).
Meanwhile, Lima Senior unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 74-65 to Trotwood-Madison. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Thurgood Marshall has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Lima Senior, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Thurgood Marshall ended up a good deal behind Lima Senior in their previous matchup back in January of 2016, losing 83-66. Can Thurgood Marshall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
