The West Side Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Grace Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Side is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, West Side had to suffer through a rough 52-22 loss at the hands of Malad. While losing is never fun, West Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Malad is ranked eighth).
Despite their defeat, West Side saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Miley Cundick, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. Holly Kropf was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Grace has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 28 points or more this season. They blew past Ogden 52-23 on the road. The victory was just what Grace needed coming off of a 64-30 loss in their prior game.
West Side has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Grace, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
West Side was dealt a bruising 52-24 loss at the hands of Grace in their previous matchup back in November. Can West Side avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
