The Shields Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The game between Shields and Georgiana wasn't particularly close, with Shields falling 75-60. While losing is never fun, Shields can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Georgiana is ranked 58th).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dante Leffall, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Leffall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Watts, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.
Shields now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Georgiana, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shields will take on Red Level at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Level has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 273 points over their last four games. As for Georgiana, they will head out on the road to square off against Straughn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Straughn is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
