It was a good run, but the Providence School Stallions unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 64-54 to Cincinnati Country Day.
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julianna Baskin, who scored ten points. The game was Baskin's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janai Jordan, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Cincinnati Country Day had a senior duo take command as Elizabeth Zimmerman scored 25 points along with seven steals and five assists and Megan Zimmerman scored 28 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Zimmerman has scored at least 25% of Cincinnati Country Day's points. Another player making a difference was Kendal Weber, who scored five points.
Providence School's defeat dropped their record down to 13-1. As for Cincinnati Country Day, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Providence School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Graves County at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. Graves County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 60th in Kentucky, while Providence School is ranked 19th in Florida). Cincinnati Country Day won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northview Academy at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th.
