The Wrangell Wolves won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Metlakatla on the road and fell 80-20. Wrangell has not had much luck with Metlakatla recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Metlakatla's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryley Booth, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bree Chavez, who scored 19 points.
Wrangell bumped their record down to 2-1 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Metlakatla, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Wrangell will head out on the road to take on Metlakatla at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Averaging 57.1 so far this season, Metlakatla's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Wrangell better be ready for a challenge. As for Metlakatla, they will look to defend their home court against Wrangell at 11:30 a.m.
