Delcambre is 7-2 against Westgate since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will host the Tigers at 3:30 p.m.
Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy hit Delcambre with a four-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Eagles, falling 12-1. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Meanwhile, Westgate came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 10-2 victory. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
RAHIM ALEM made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. ALEM was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, DAYLAN DOUCET was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Westgate: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. DAYLON KING was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Westgate was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abbeville only posted a batting average of .241.
Westgate's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Delcambre, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Everything went Delcambre's way against Westgate in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Delcambre made off with a 17-4 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
