Swansea has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Dreher Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Swansea will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Dreher is ranked 92nd).
Swansea suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Gilbert 69-41. Swansea was down 54-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Donnell Goodwin, who scored 17 points. Michael Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Dreher had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-27 win over Brookland-Cayce.
Swansea's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Dreher, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Swansea took a serious blow against Dreher when the teams last played on January 10th, falling 81-34. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Swansea was down 50-13.
