The Bethany Wolves won the last time they faced the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals, and things went their way  on Thursday too. Bethany secured a  34-30 W over Cornerstone Charter. That's two games straight that Bethany has won by exactly four  points.
 Leading Bethany to victory were  Braelyn Pennix and  Mattie Southard.  Pennix  scored five points along with seven  rebounds and seven  steals, while  Southard  scored 18 points along with five  steals and three  blocks.  Hattiejo Hopper was another key contributor,  scoring four points along with four  steals.
 When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Kaylen Williamson. Despite the final result, she  dropped  a double-double on 14 points and 15  rebounds. That was a full 46.7% of Cornerstone Charter's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was  Kamryn Stephens, who  scored four points along with 12  rebounds and two  steals.
 The  victory  makes it two in a row for Bethany and  bumps their season record up to 9-13. As for Cornerstone Charter,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-11.
 Bethany on the road again  on Tuesday and play against Piedmont Classical at 6:30  p.m.  on January 23rd. As for Cornerstone Charter, they will look to defend their home court  on Wednesday against Leadership Academy at 5:30  p.m. Leadership Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cornerstone Charter in North Carolina (Leadership Academy is ranked 247th, while Cornerstone Charter is ranked 591st).
