Basketball Game Preview: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins vs. Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks

The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins will venture away from home to face off against the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy will be up against a hot Orangeburg-Wilkinson squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Orangeburg-Wilkinson claimed a resounding 72-34 victory over Hanahan. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Hawks are ranked 229th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kaleb Jamison was a one-man wrecking crew for Orangeburg-Wilkinson as he went 9 of 18 on his way to 26 points. Those 26 points gave Jamison a new career-high. Jordan McGahee was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 14 points.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Oceanside Collegiate Academy entered their tilt with North Charleston on Saturday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cougars 78-43. The Landsharks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson took a serious blow against Oceanside Collegiate Academy in their previous matchup back in January, falling 52-19. Can Orangeburg-Wilkinson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
