The Jay Royals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pensacola Christian Academy 69-26 at home. Jay has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Jay to victory were Madalyn Grimes and Carleigh Baker. Grimes dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Baker scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Grimes also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Darcy Locklin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Pensacola Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lauren Porter, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Porter also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Sellars, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Jay has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
