Central Valley and Pacheco are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Hawks will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Central Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Grace Davis 21-1 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.
Brooklynn Steeley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Central Valley let Gabriela Delatorre and Selah Chesney run wild. Delatorre went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Chesney went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Delatorre has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Morales, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Central Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .707. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Pacheco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Lathrop, falling 20-2.
Isabella Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Central Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Pacheco, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything went Central Valley's way against Pacheco when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Central Valley made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
