The Beaufort Eagles pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Philip Simmons. If Beaufort hoped to take revenge for the 64-59 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Beaufort still got an impressive performance from Brandon Blackmon, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blackmon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Samari Bonds, who scored 22 points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Robert Watson, who scored 23 points for Philip Simmons. Weston Coggeshall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Beaufort's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Philip Simmons, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
